I’m actually gutted. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this show. Fincher is one of my favourite directors too. For some reason I never got around to it, and haven’t really been keeping up with any renewal news.
Started watching it last week and wow, it’s incredible. It’s dark, moody, and very, very unsettling. It’s fascinating to see them weave in real serial killers into the fictional story. The overall narrative is just really compelling.
Acting is very strong as well. Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany have excellent chemistry together, and Anna Torv is always a delight. The killers are portrayed really well too, especially Cameron Britton as Ed Kemper. He really freaked me the fuck out.
It’s crazy to me that it’s been cancelled. It’s easily one of, if not the best, Netflix show I’ve watched.
