Hi.

Hope you’re doing well.

For me, J. D.’s (Zach Braff) internal monologues were pretty novel at the time because he was both an onscreen character and a narrator and his words and delivery could both be humorous and poignant and fit a wide range of scenes throughout the run of Scrubs.

I’ve literally had tears in my eyes and going down my cheeks a the end of certain episodes where his internal monologues have perfectly summarized the events of an episode and a lot of that is down to performance, writing and timing.

Another funny narrating performance was Keith David in the Community episode “Pillows and Blankets” where he was narrating the pillow-fort and blanket-fort all-out war between Abed and Troy and their factions.

What do you consider the best examples of characters/actors on shows (temporarily or permanently) narrating?
