I heard this come up on a recent Audible podcast between Stewart Mandel and Bruce Feldman, and they seemed to doubt it. But let’s say Memphis were to run the table this year (including a win over Florida State) and get the G5 bid, and let’s say Arkansas decides to move on from Sam Pittman and told Ryan Silverfield he could have the job and more than double his salary (Pittman makes 2x Silverfield’s), but only if he signs on immediately so he can get a jump start on recruiting. This seems far more likely, especially in a world where the P2 severely outresource the G5. So how long until this happens? I say within 5 years.
