I am so pleased with the writing on Diarra from Detroit. If you are a fan of the genre, I think you will like this show. I am only a few episodes in, I am just blown away by the talent. I think it is truly perfection. BET+, who knew?
Lately other mystery tv shows have not been doing it, and I consider myself a fan of the genre. Here are some of my opinions.
Elsbeth reveals the murderer to the audience in the first few minutes and then we watch her solve what we already know. I feel like if you are a fan of mystery, this is beyond insulting. No, it is not interesting to watch her methods or logic. Character quirk alone doesn’t drive a show.
My Life is Murder, the writing this season is horrible. I suspect the move to NZ for Lucy Lawless is somehow the reason, but it might also be because the writers are in a season 4 slump.
Sugar is so slow, it just didn’t capture my attention. It really wallows in the artsy-fartsy. I will avoid this showrunner’s work in the future.
Death and Other Details, the last few episodes are too stupid. I hate that I didn’t let it go earlier and stuck with it.
