Um, what the hell was that? S04e01 was an absolutely slog. Boring doesn’t even describe it. The writing is horrible. The satire was thin. Annie’s plastic surgery is distracting. The cinematography pacing, etc… were just crap. This isn’t the same show. And to top it all off, they troll their own audience by forcing us to look at a closeup of some guys asshole. Really? We’re doing 2002 7th grade internet humor now? WTF happened?!
Man they completely deflated all enthusiasm I had. Season 1 to 3 were great. It reminds me of when the walking dead instantly lost 80% of it’s audience when Jeffrey Dean Morgan smashed in Glenn’s head. Wait a second, Jeffrey Dean Morgan was in this episode… Is he the death rattle of good tv? Wait a second… people got their heads smashed in with baseball bats in this episode… WAIT A SECOND. Those people were the biggest fans of the homelander…! Is this on purpose? Do the writers hate their own fans? This is a little too symbolic here…I’m like really concerned there’s something deeply dark and psychological going on with the show runner.
