I’ve always heard about shows that started off great, but didn’t stick the landing (looking at you Game of Thrones).

So it got me thinking about shows where the opposite happened. And weak does not necessarily have to mean bad, just it pales in comparison to what came later.

Avatar The Last Airbender comes to mind. The first season I’m sure a lot of people can agree is the weakest out of the three. It’s not a bad season at all, but if the show were to end there I don’t think it would be remembered or held to such a high standard like it is today. Because of those other two seasons the show is considered one of the greatest and loved by many people. Hopefully the live action can follow in those footsteps, though I quite enjoyed it.

So I ask the question, what is a show that you consider great because of what it eventually became and not how it started?
