In 2007, the Texans traded picks #8, #39, and #48 to the Atlanta Falcons for pick #10 and Matt Schaub.

The Texans had to then immediately sign him to a new contract, and did so with a substantial 6-year, $48 million contract.

I know Schaub turned out decent overall. But before the trade, he was really just a 3rd round pick who was Vick’s backup. Schaub had only thrown for just over 1000 yards, 6 TDs, 6 INTS, and had a ~60% completion percentage. Never won a game either.
