I get what the X Y and Z are and how they line up.
Y is generally going to be the smaller, shifty, matchup guy. (EDIT- I guess not really). But what physical characteristics would differentiate an X from a Z? And what would be and advantage to having one vs the other lining up on the LOS? Is there an advantage to putting the Y next to one type of receiver over the other?
Also, in a 11 personel, does strong side still indicate that Tight End side, or the side with the Y, or is it more complicated than that?
Thanks for any insight.
