Ted Ginn being injured for the 2011 NFC championship comes to mind. You never think a game will be decided by punt returns and yet, Kyle Williams’ fumbles led directly to ten Giants points. There’s a possible huge butterfly effect from that injury. If the 49ers won the super bowl that year you gotta think they’d never bench Alex Smith. Maybe Kaepernick never has his moment. If the 49ers commit to Alex maybe the Chiefs don’t lay the ground work that started in 2013. Who knows. Anyway I’m rambling now. What other injuries seemed insignificant but deeply cost a team?
