Community is one of the best comedy shows of all time, and it’s a shame that it didn’t see the commercial success it deserved. That’s not even getting into the production problems and behind the scenes with stuff like the Dan Harmon and Chevy chase conflicts, leading to the disastrous season 4, robbing Harmon of the chance to get closure on plot lines he’d set up from not just the 3rd season, but all the way to the first. Which just made him more bitter when he returned in season 5 and let that seep into his work and the season’s episodes.

So when season 6 rolled around, it was surprisingly good, with an even more surprising cast addition of Frankie who knocked it out of the park, really both paget Brewster and Keith David were great. But for it to not matter because it didn’t see the success Yahoo were hoping for was disappointing.

When the season came out I’d never even heard of Yahoo TV. Hell even in 2015 I was like “Yahoo is still a thing?” since Google had become so ubiquitous and overtaken nearly all search engines of yore. And after community, I didn’t hear about Yahoo TV since. It was like that time youtube tried to launch “YouTube red” and have its own original programming like cobra Kai. Still, when they were nice enough to save community after NBC finally dropped them, it’s a shame that didn’t result in more programming for the future.
