The crazy ironic thing about people saying that "libertarians don't understand human nature" is that libertarians are one of the few groups that actually DO understand human nature, because that is exactly what the study of economics is about, and more generally the study of Human Action, a book written by our patron saint, Friedrich Von Mises, which sought to generalize economic insights into a totalistic science of human action.
Meanwhile you have millions of socialists out there who can't understand why their attempts at nation-building keep turning into dictatorships while they all read Marx who recommends using murderous force to overthrow entire countries and put the power of life and death into the hands of this new vanguard of socialists who end up being forced to rule with an iron fist to both keep themselves alive and to stay in power.
It's more than incredibly ironic, it's tragic.
