They basically are. In Happy, Meloni sees a little girl’s imaginary friend, who begs him to help find her. In the show, he is an ex-cop, a bum, a boozer, and a total asshole. He is also a hitman. It has some really dark undertones throughout the show, but it’s not a bad watch, which is kind of a surprise.
And Eric is about a dad whose kid goes missing, and he goes out in search of him along with his kids imaginary friend. It also has really dark undertones to the show. He works on a kid puppet show and is a total asshole as well. And he is a boozer, too.
Am I seeing it right, or am I just seeing things? Anyway, I only watched the first episode, but I couldn’t believe I was watching it because I really liked the show Happy. Meloni did a good job, and the comedy wasn’t bad through most of it. I think I will watch another episode tomorrow and see how it plays out. It didn’t quite grab me, but because of the similarities, I think I will give it one more shot. For Benny’s sake.
