I was expecting something way worse going into this show, the way people were talking online you’d think it was unwatchable but I was pretty excited to continue watching this show.
the Weeknds acting was kind of bad at first but was fine by the last 3 episodes and it was cool seeing the progression right infront of you.
most of the characters were pretty likeable to me and most of the actors did pretty good job. The female manager and assistant I really liked.
also people saying the dialogue was cringe but that seemed to me like it’s completely intentional, the show is like a parody, like Spinal Tap, it’s just not as blatant as that one and people couldn’t see it.
this idea is supported by Mike Dean coming out of the car with a bong and a blunt in his hand. it’s so obviously over the top it proves the whole show has a layer of irony on it. also the dirty photo that leaked of her is a cum-shot on her face? CMON, that’s so over the top, that’s funny.
Also, people saying it was non linear and the plot made no sense but I assumed while watching it that this was intentional. it’s like we were drugged out in a cult as-well, where the days blend together and we don’t know up from down.
the cinematography was also stunning imo.
i was never bored watching this and think there’s much worse things on television.
and if im off about the show being an intentional parody in some ways then I guess they managed to make one of those things that’s so bad that it’s good. but I really don’t see how the cringe dialogue couldn’t be intentional when the music and cinematography in the show were so top notch.
