I really do like the show and characters. I first watched the show when it was on CBS, but didn’t continue after it moved to Paramount+. I recently saw that it was on Netflix, so I rewatched the first season and then started in on the second season. I cannot believe in the background we are told.

Kristen Bouchard is:

  1. a fairly renowned climber of mountains world-wide
  2. a forensic psychologist used as an expert witness by the NYC district attorney
  3. the mother of four daughters

I could believe in one of these things. Mayyyybe two. But not all three. It’s just not possible. How do you climb the Himalayas and go to school AND give birth to four children. Perhaps if she doesn’t sleep.

Even if you bought into all of that, why do they live in NYC? Her husband, Andy, flies off to Colorado to set up climbing expeditions, so why don’t they live in Denver? You know, where the mountains are?

This also doesn’t explain why some bohemian mountain climber would birth four children. You can’t climb anything with babies. Let alone have a miscarriage, get IVF for your third child and then have another one after that.

Nothing makes sense at all.
