Having seen the first season of CBS’s Tracker, I realized that it’s format of a lone guy with a particular set of skills traveling around helping people in different places with a handful of reoccurring support characters is what the MacGyver reboot show SHOULD have been. It reminds me some much of the original Richard Dean Anderson show.
I was actually a little bummed knowing now that this structure of a TV show could be still be successful and yet for the MacGyver reboot they chose instead to make it a “we’re a family” team-based action drama with wise-cracking robots and ‘sitting around a fire pit at the end of each episode’ crap.
