I’ve been binging “The Rookie” lately and it’s striking to me how lame Nathan Fillion’s character is.
He very quickly gets into Mary Sue territory. He starts off being better at talking down people than anyone else which is fine, but he quickly becomes a super cop who’s got the best instincts and is able to shoot to wound and can beat up anyone he fights bare handed.
Not to mention he’s a sex god who constantly pulls more attractive younger women with high powered jobs. They end up full on self parodying with Bailey where there’s a running joke about how many qualifications she has.
I like the rest of the show but John and Bailey could be cut and I wouldent miss them at all
