I’ve been a fan of crime shows like FBI, CSI, and NCIS for years, but I feel like they could be so much more exciting if they changed up the formula a bit. It’s getting pretty predictable when you always know that the good guys will catch the bad guy by the end of the episode.
Imagine if 30-40% of the episodes ended with the bad guy getting away or the team hitting a dead end. I don’t mean they catch them eventually after a few episodes. I mean the bad guy truly gets away, and the case remains unsolved.
What do you all think? Would you be interested in seeing more crime shows take this kind of approach?
