Ok. Let’s just face it. Some parents in TV shows just plain suck. And I’m using terrible as a broad term. Parents can be terrible for a number of reasons. Whether it’s incompetence, bad parenting, etc. Here’s my picks:
- Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty) - I think this one goes without saying and neither do the next two.
- Homer Simpson (The Simpsons)
- Peter and Lois Griffin (Family Guy)
- Ray Barone (Everybody Loves Raymond) - he’s an idiot
- Jerry Smith (Rick and Morty) - also a complete idiot
- Ran and Vidar Jutul (Ragnarok) - Vidar was often abusive. Ran isn’t much better. And they both instilled their children with the belief that because they’re a rich and powerful family, they’re inherently better than everyone else.
- Turid (Ragnarok) - took literally the entire series for her to realise how hard she was on Magne. #greatparenting
- Gabe Ugliano (Percy Jackson) - the guy’s a complete dirtbag
- Cersi Lannister (Game of Thrones) - murdered her husband and enabled, even encouraged Joffery’s horrible behaviour
