Everyone knows that certain seasons are “the best” and some are “the worst”. Does any of this matter in syndication? Also, the crew and even the actors can change from season to season which would mean that the syndication deals might be different. For example, if a certain actor or writer negotiated larger royalties for the seasons or episodes they were in, would it make those less profitable to syndicate?
Even if these differences exist, is it worth the nuance look at it or do studios prefer to just have a single deal for the whole shebang and focus on net profit?
