I love Eye of the Beholder - very well written, first episode I ever saw, will always hold a special place in my heart, the entrance, the music, Serling’s commentary - but don’t know that I would call it the best episode of the series mainly because upon subsequent rewatches (I didn’t suspect or notice at all the first time) it’s too obvious to me that there is something wrong with the doctor and nurses faces. I know that this episode was released in 1960, though, so I don’t know how fair this criticism actually is - Serling surely couldn’t have known that we’d one day have better devices wherein we could see that the dictator’s face looks like that of a pig before the official reveal.
