If you aren't aware, there was a pretty popular post on r/funny today that was a "prank" video.
The "prank" is a guy dressed as a security officer (who is in on it) approaches a guy without a mask (who is in on it) and yells "Where's your mask?" before proceeding to pretend to whack the guy several times with a police baton.
They do this in front of people who aren't wearing masks to scare them.
In what fucking universe is it a prank to scare people into thinking an authority will abuse you for making your own choices? I might get it if this was done somewhere where masks were required but I don't think it was. And even if it was I still think the larger implications of this are truly horrifying. We live in a world where people think it is funny to physically assault those you disagree with.
Plus, how do they not realize the hypocrisy? "Hey, let's hang out all day without a mask on right next to each other to scare anti-maskers. Good thing we have this place available where wearing a mask is a choice so we can do that. That'll show 'em."
