When I try to discuss economics or business with somebody they always bring this up. My response is that since they own all the inventory and run the business, they get to chose the margin and their salary since they took all the risk. I also mention how since they carry a bigger risk, it makes sense for them to make a lot more money incase they need emergency money to pay off their debts or something crazy in the market happens and they can no longer function.

This never satisfies them. They always say that it doesn’t justify them becoming millionaires or billionaires. They always bring up emotions but never reason or logic.

In my point of view, businesses should be free to to make their own decisions as long as it’s not illegal or creating a monopoly. What can I say to somebody who thinks this way because they only respond with emotion at this point.
