They’re midquel type shows about a story that already ended, and in which all the characters have already either died or the villain was already defeated and the heroes live happily ever after. It was one of the main detractors of Black Widow that the story of BW was told after all the events already unfolded in Avengers Endgame (instead of being set after Winter Soldier or at the very least right after Civil War)
And it’s weird that ALL the Star Wars shows are like that. None of the shows are about something that happens after. The story is already told and these Star Wars shows are like “this is a show about something that happened in this random world or planet” and we see a character we know becomes the Darth Vader or another character who is blown up on a planet or whatever. There’s just no stakes especially when all the shows are like this instead of just 1 or 2.
It’s new content but it’s not really new content… the stories will always be hampered by the fact that the ending is already written. Yet the entirety of the Star Wars media is seemingly built around this.
