The “bury your gays” trope is specifically being singled out to die due to their sexuality
While the trope “fridging” is when a characters sole purpose was specifically to die in order to serve as a motivation to another character journey.
Yet, I see people listing any LGBTQ death as an example of the “bury your gays” trope (and I say that as somebody who is gay.)
And I see people listing any character who dies and has an affect on somebody as fridging, when unless that characters sole purpose of existing was for this, then it does not qualify.
