I’m a Broncos fan, and I would have to say without a doubt the player that comes to mind is Jake Plummer. This might seem weird to people outside of Denver, but there is this cult faction within Broncos Fandom that thinks Jake Plummer was a really good QB. It’s made even worse by several radio personalities here who like to eulogize the benching of Plummer in 2006 as some grave mistake by Mike Shanahan.
When Plummer was benched in 2006 he had 11tds, 13 ints and was throwing for 124 yards a game…I’m not saying Plummer was bad his entire time here. For most of it he was serviceable. But I would say about 35% of our fan base thinks this guy was really really good.
