I’ve got an ongoing Dynasty on NCAA 10 where there have been a few instances of teams going through periods of multiple years where they were just one or two games from winning a conference or national championship (Texas Tech has finished second in the Big XII West like seven years in a row because they can’t get over the Oklahoma/OSU hump and Michigan State shat the bed in decisive Big Ten games like four times in five years and missed out on a conference championship because of it). Which programs in real life had multi-year windows where they were right at the cusp but could never fully take advantage of it?
