I waited for whole S2 to drop before binging it and honestly I am underwhelmed. Invincible is not a deconstruction or satire of superhero genre which I get and I adjusted my expections accordingly. And honestly there only so much of supe being bad and satire narrative can go until it goes around circles. Hence why the Boys show hasn’t gone anywhere in 3 seasons.

Invincible isn’t Boys nor its trying to be. Its focuses on personal relationships, particularly parental ones in a supernatural world/universe. The major plot starter was Omniman betrayal and then it was aftermath and abandoned daddy issue. I am fully aware that the daddy issue is common in Boys and many other Gen X writers work across various media.

The main story bits aren’t that interesting and moves very slowly. I understand the need to let the moments breathe but the story does not progress much in the 2 seasons.

Actually the side characters are more interesting but they are so random that its hard to care or folllow. The shows biggest strengths are its big problems. Everyone’s superpowers are random and anything can happen. So nothing feels impactful or worthwhile.
