NOOOOOOO everyone's attention span is getting worse!
idk if true or not but it just doesn't always take 10 minute videos to get your point across, short videos and posts are "long enough" sometimes
Tiktok's also being used by Gen Z as a search engine more than google: https://tech.co/news/google-gen-z-tiktok-instagram-search
To me tiktok's otherwise pretty useful, its core features are a good thing but the major problems should be identified and fixed:
it's centralized, needs decentralization;
it's proprietary, needs open sourcing;
it's not respecting users' data, need better software and policies respecting users
(is there more?)
To me the tiktok format is superior and just needs to be duplicated and done better
Thoughts on tiktok in the current year?
