"Hello jagoffs! Reddit here"

"On reddit, you can create your own sub, spend endless hours growing it, moderating it and making it a profit churning algorithm so we, the owners of reddit, can make billions!"

"What do you get in return?"

"Nothing!"

#WHERE DO I SIGN UP???

A better question might be, why are people ok with this arrangement?

Or why hasnt someone built a competing platform which actually does reward its producers.
