Everyone has a pretty consistent top 3 WR of all time list that includes Rice, Moss, and Owens, maybe with Fitz or someone else sneaking in here or there, but who was the best WR2 Robin to a team’s WR1 Batman?
Who is someone that didn’t get the same targets and yards as the team’s #1 option but still put up great numbers in their own right over their time, and also stepped up if the #1 was out?
The first name that popped into my mind was Adam Thielen, WR2 to Diggs then Jefferson, but still put up great numbers as the second option, and just went to Carolina and was the defacto #1 even in the twilight of his career.
Others that came to mind were Mushin Muhammad, great WR2 to Steve Smith’s WR 1, albeit for a short time; and Anquan Boldin, but I don’t think he counts as he was a WR1 who happened to play with Larry Fitzgerald for a number of years and then went on to be a #1 in Baltimore and SF.
Who comes to mind for you?
