Yeah.... India doesn't have freedom of speech practically, only in theory. And its not just in this one region. If you start mouthing off about powerful people, shit is gonna happen to you...
...my biggest understanding of why this happens is because the courts are backlogged by years if not decades, so any case will just rot. Thus, govt can keep on overreaching and being more corrupt, and no checks and balances stop it other than voting.
The problem with Kashmir is, its a 3 way battleground between China, Pakistan and India. Regular infusions of foreign fighters require a standing army presence.... which leads to corruption and abuse...
Just so, these 'freedom fighters' know, between China, Pakistan and India, their best hope at freedom is with India. Corruption and autocracy is far worse in the other two countries. Fucking China sells off Muslim people's organs after throwing them in reeducation camps... at least India isn't that insane
