“I will accept any rules that you feel necessary to your freedom. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”

I think this quote from a character in this book sums up my opinions on most things Covid related. I'll happily wear a mask to visit my favorite shop or restaurant because I respect the owner and other patrons. I'll sanitize my hands frequently because I think it's a reasonable accommodation to make those around me who may be more concerned than I am or may have health issues.

But when you start taking away people's jobs and education and support systems with indiscriminate lockdowns and capacity limits that don't make sense while privileging politically connected businesses over others, you're not being reasonable.

And let's not forget the utter silence from these authorities on the BLM riots. This was never about public health.
