For Washington:
INVEST. IN. BASKETBALL. Seattle has a surplus of NBA talent and a hunger for a men’s basketball team to rally around. Drastically remodel (and possibly even replace) Hec-Ed. It looks like a gym from the 1950s and is a stark contrast to the modern and flashy Husky Stadium. Make UW basketball an option for local talent. Basketball at UW has never been given the resources to be successful, so in return there hasn’t been a basketball culture at UW, but it doesn’t have to remain this way forever, especially in a basketball rabid city like Seattle.
Add Wi-Fi at Husky Stadium and improve cell service. For a tech-heavy city and university, it makes no sense that there is no cell service or Wi-Fi at the stadium. Stadium Wi-Fi has become a joke among Husky fans.
Improve the gameday atmosphere. Use the new stadium lights you installed for more light shows during commercial TV timeouts. Create more traditions. Host more promotions to convert young kids into Husky fans. Hold a summer game (an actual game, not a “preview”) instead of a spring game since nobody wants to be sitting in the rain and cold for a scrimmage months away from football season.
What would you do?
