In the last few years I have accrued enough bitcoin to provide for my living. I have an European Citizenship and intend to one of the EU-member states to live off this money.

However i noticed that after 3 months in any country you are required to register residency in order not to be fined. To do that you must provide one of the following:

  • Proof of employment;
  • Proof of self-employment;
  • Basically any proof of sufficient means to sustain yourself.

Ideally i don't want to disclose the amount of bitcoin i have, so proving i have sufficient means is tough.

So one strategy that came to mind was to open a company in Estonia and sell bitcoin through it in order to prove self-employment. Nothing huge in terms of value (less than 40,000 Euros annually, which is tax-free by their law).

I was thinking of opening the company as a small consulting firm and just sell bitcoin p2p to provide for my living. That way i could keep bitcoin private and have a way of proving self-sufficiency.

My only concern is this to be seen as money laundering.

What are your thoughts on this? Any alternative strategies available?

Of course i could be a perpetual traveler for a while (spend less than 3 months in each place), but after some time i would like to settle.

Any help is welcome.
