Was talking to a VT friend about Brent Pry the other day and how my friend is really growing to like him. I mentioned that Brent comes from my home area, and I’ve been following him still since I live in Virginia now and he was pretty good for PSU. Got to thinking about some of VT’s opponents this year and how close his separation is to many of the coaches that will be across the field.

9/7 hosting Marshall and HC Charles Huff. Coached together in 2011 at Vanderbilt and later for 3 years at Penn State

9/14 at Old Dominion with HC Ricky Rahne. Coached together for 9 years between Vanderbilt and Penn State

10/17 hosting Boston College and HC Bill O’Brien. O’Brien departed Penn State following the 2013 season, bringing Pry to State College

11/23 at Duke with HC Manny Diaz. Diaz took the DC vacancy left by Pry when accepting the VT job.

I’d love to see some more examples of this in the replies if you have them. The cycling and quick moving/ascending coaching ladders especially in college football is always something I’ve found interesting. Was always a big fan of Saban’s assistants coming back to play him and the storylines that followed.
