Guys,

Changed my name to Diarque here because I want to distance myself from monarchism. I thought of Monarque as a really cool French word (meanig, of course, 'monarch,') but my actual political philosophy is not really hardcore monarchist by any stretch of the imagination.

Diarque is simply the word for 'diarch.' Diarch here referring to one of the groups empowered in a diarchy, a diarchy being government in which power is vested in two rulers or authorities.

Byzantium was sometimes thought of as a 'diarchy' bcause state power was very intertwined with the Church.

I actually have just gone with 'Diarque' so the name is more recognizable.

In this case, perhaps the philosophical relevance can be thought of as believing God is the ultimate ruler of the universe, and we must submit to Him, while on earth there is another set of rule. We could conceive of it as referring to Matthew 22:21 in a sense - to God what is God's, to Caesar what is Caesar's.

I also like the concept of 'universal nobility' (of man), so one can also think of all strong, aristocratic people as being diarchs in their own right.

... Not gonna lie, this is pretty convoluted and rambling, but I figured I would provide some public notification & explanation fo why I am going to 'Diarque' from 'Monarque.'

From 'Diarque' I will perhaps move to another name, perhaps just the English version 'Diarch,' or maybe 'Diarchist.'

I hope this doesn't sound too self-important or self-absorbed. Really, if this was a big internet forum where I was not an easily noticed poster, I would have not made any such announcement, but since I am a Mod here, I am just trying to be transparent.

^^
