I'll pirate it, edit out the clip and then let my kids watch it.

or u could fast forward
so I have had this idea for a while that maybe we need to produce "censored" versions of things, like officially request them
China is apparently already doing this but in a commie way?
another idea: on discussions someone mentioned another kind of project where a person was creating 10 minute short summary films using actual film footage of original films (companies are going after them but I wonder if this could be a commercial approved product or popular format people could make use of)
back to original idea: for a while I didn't think there was a demand for it or this was thought too "authoritarian", even though it's not really forcing anyone to consoom the " censored" version
but like I would otherwise be ok with lightyear except for probably a few scenes or just one. it is a shame that the whole film would be wasted from one scene.
I've thought this about other works. two meme novels suggested by certain internet literature forums are "infinite jest" and "gravitys rainbow". they seem like they have cultural value, but IF promotes drug use and GR unnatural vices like lightyear does, and maybe other stuff. It's kind of not necessary to read some of those graphic parts of the novels to get the gist of other parts of the novels that may have value otherwise.
Catholics banned books before with the famous " Index" and there was a "League of Decency" which rated films. Of course thr Vatican 2 movement has seemed to abandon these traditional approaches.
I mean I guess actually they had this with CDs, there were "explicit / parental advisory" labels on songs or albums, and "clean / radio" edits. So maybe just an expanded version of this kind of thing.
