In the era of the 12/14 team playoff, especially in more difficult conferences, wouldn’t it make more sense to schedule a full slate of “guaranteed” wins a season out of conference? Looking at Washington’s future schedules, we aren’t scheduled to play a single non-conference game against a power conference opponent until we play Tennessee in 2029. Are there any other P4 teams with similarly weak nonconference schedules? Do you see “cupcake” nonconference schedules becoming increasingly normal in the future?
