Original Title: [Barshop] Over the past five years, the NFL average pass rush win rate against a single pass-blocker was 17% for a qualified rusher. Donald posted an 18% pass rush win rate against double teams in that span, making him better against two pass-blockers than the average pass-rusher was against one.
Excerpt from Sarah Barshop’s article here:
Just a frankly ridiculous stat and a great representation of Aaron Donald’s unprecedented greatness. A legend of the game with a nigh perfect career: 10 seasons, 8/9 first team all pros after his rookie season (the one miss due to injury), and a pivotal quarterback pressure to seal a Super Bowl. Would’ve been nice to see him continue to rack up the FTAPs and go for Jerry’s record, but Donald went out on top and hard to fault him for that. All in all, I’d argue that his prime stacks up with any player’s prime in the history of the sport.
