  these people feel enormous amounts of inner emotional conflict over what they do

  they know it is wrong but then they get brainwashed that "it's not wrong, it's just society arbitraily made up rules and said it's wrong", but the guilt never goes away because they still know it is wrong, so they live in this state of mental angst and confusion

  the drag person didn't look particularly confident that what they were doing was ok
