I was listening to a podcast the other day and one of the hosts mentioned there’s probably only about 10 programs capable of winning a national championship in this, our new modern era of college football.
For my list (which is longer than 10, obviously), I consider not just historical/recent success, but also a program’s ability to recruit, donor/fan support, and conference affiliation (sadly). Here’s my list in no particular order:
