Democracy is mob rule. 50% of the population is on the left hand side of the bell curve.

People that don't work, don't own property, or don't pay taxes shouldnt vote. People on welfare should be automatically banned from voting, period. Being on welfare and voting is the biggest conflict of interest ever.

If democracy is expanded, the lazy fucks and dumbasses will vote for the greatest handout and will subjugate the productive to a welfare state. They dont give a shit about property rights or income because guess what? They dont own or make anything! In their view your're the greedy piece of shit and they deserve your money

Kinda like what happened with the georgia runoffs on a microcosm.

Sadly, democracy looks to be expanded. With it I predict welfare statism will expand to the likes we've never seen. FYI, asking for voter id is a start, but that only prevents fraud

I know a lot of libertarians will disagree, but a democracy will not tend libertarian. It will tend socialist for the aforementioned reasons. Welfare is freedom for a large chunk of the masses. A libertarian democracy would only work with a virtuous people

With that said, if there was a way to limit the size of govt(even against a majority vote for big govt) then a democracy could work. But even the constitution has failed on that front, imo. Income taxes anyone?

What are your thoughts on democracy?
