I’m my spout of insomnia I’ve been sitting thinking about how starkly different I am philosophically and morally to my heritage and to my own surroundings. I’ve concluded statism and collectivism are just inherent to humanity and that we’re the odd ones out and we’re ostracized for it.

I’m Indian American. I grew up as the byproduct of effectively an arranged reproduction and finance contract. Just in that example alone (note my parents weren’t forced by hear me out) shows a pressure to conform to the authority of a cultural authority. I.e ethnic statism is what I’d call it. Treat your children as cattle to have grand children, become wealthy to take care of you when you’re old. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but when we look at the finer details, the ugly picture shows. Indians predicate the history of arranged marriages of forming alliances between households (not unique to India but here me out) and this proliferated through all walks of life because people try to play game theory using cultural statism to secure their lines.

Now on a another cultural level this breeds reverence for authority. All of Asia is ripe with this. Confucianism is love letter to appealing to authority. In that Maoism was able to gain a foothold and wasn’t too grating against Chinese spiritualism, work ethic etc. Indians are guilty of the same thing. Instead we use cultural values to appeal to and societal bandwagon to fear.

Now notice how by And large Indian and Chinese American voters support things like expanding the welfare state, gun control, higher taxes for free education. These engrained cultural values deify authority from parenthood to now the almighty government.

Outside a few small examples in history, and the US. The rule of the world is statism of economic variety or cultural variety. A good amount of time it’s an unhealthy mix of both. Liberty is hated because it’s the only ideology that seeks to empower the individuals choice. Don’t wanna marry someone your parents set up? You’re an insult. Don’t want to be a doctor, you’re a failure.

You don’t worship X religion you’re a danger to society. Don’t want to pay more taxes for more programs you just hate por people, women, children etc

Liberty is the enemy of human’s innate need to want to be controlled an not have to face the consequences of their own decisions without the fallback of cultural or economic safety nets or pressure. Authright, authleft, libleft and a combination of them all own the world stage and nearly all of human history. Liberty is a threat to the statists because it’s never been a widespread cultural phenomenon or that people would rather be dependent on the state and collective rather than truly maximizing one’s effort to own one’s actions and consequences . Liberty is terrifying to people
