Win or lose, what’s that game that your team that in all likelihood should’ve been closer than what it was given stats against similar teams, personnel at position groups etc throughout the season but the result doesn’t sit right with you.
My example from last year was the Coastal/James Madison game. We contained high scoring offenses in Texas state to some extent, UCLA, and SJSU (the game where we shut out SJSU for 3 quarters) we broke apart defenses, including Marshall. We played and beat App state (this isn’t even mentioning our QB situation our offensive talent, etc.) then we laid an egg. Players on the sideline were openly questioning offensive playcalling, nonexistent assignment coverage, quarterbacks, who were perfectly healthy just didn’t play, players, not taking the game seriously on the field. The lost doesn’t really bother me, it was just wildly inconsistent with what our team was up to that point.
