Me & a buddy of mine are huge fans of both sport & names. We chat about both of these topics frequently, and a few months ago we decided it would be fun to create a March Madness style tournament in order to determine the best name(s) in all of sporting history. We began this process by creating a large master list of potential candidates for the tournament, and have spent the last few weeks whittling the list down to a manageable 256 (at present, the full master list has 2,601 names, and we still add to it almost everyday - if people are interested, we can share the master list so everyone can see the other names we’ve compiled).
