I would say no. The guy who made brave browser and search is pretty right wing. (At-least by today's standards) He donated to Christian groups that lobbied against gay marriage back in the day. He is very anti censorship.
You can bet he voted Trump.
As a side note he is also arguably one of the most influential computer scientist ever due to him being the inventor of JavaScript. The most widely used/hated programming language in the world.

The browser has had some controversies but its still pretty good and if you don't like the search engine you could use something like startpage which uses the google search results.
