If I thought this past year was an anomaly, I'd probably just pick the place offering me the best job. I never thought I'd say this, but at this point I think it may be time to consider whether whatever city I'd be moving to actually has enough political stability to make starting a career there a smart move. Some around me have suggested that things are probably just going to get much worse. 2022 and 2024 really aren't that far away. I personally don't want to deal with crazy rioting every time there's a federal election. I also am not comfortable with the Covid hysteria over this past year and half.

At the same time, political power is tenuous. Who's to say the balance of political power will stay the same in a place like Florida or Texas to justify a move? Texas was locked down for a little while there, if I recall correctly.

Just wanted to get opinions from some people here who may have a different view of the current political situation than people on other subs.
