2020 had it's pros and cons. CON: The whole fucking year for the most part. PRO: A bunch of people getting red pilled and realizing the state is bullshit.
Before 2020, this sub was very very very libertarian, but since 2020, a lot of newly-minted libertarians have come in here as one of the few places of sanity left on this god-forsaken website. They have taken a lot of non-libertarian ideas with them.
Lots of people have requested we, as mods, do something about this. We had a chat in modmail and agreed it'd be a real dick move to kick 'em out. Every libertarian was likely something not libertarian before becoming a libertarian, and I think a lot of the newer posters who come from either Trumpland or typical conservative backgrounds (as well as people who were democrats) are mostly genuine in their interest in libertarianism.
Therefore, we have a responsibility to help them finish the job and truly understand libertarianism. This doesn't just mean introducing them to the NAP, it also includes getting them introduced to the liberty culture, letting them in on the inside jokes of ours, and generally teaching them what libertyland is like.
So, if you are a former conservative and have questions about libertarianism, please ask in this thread.
If you are a long-time libertarian and have something that you wish to let former conservatives know about libertarianism, please tell them in this thread.
Remember, taxation is theft, social security is a ponzi scheme, the government blows up brown people, and gay weed should be able to marry that ma deuce without issue.
