Sun Wukong was buried under a mountain for stealing the secrets of "heaven" (right to rule and eternal life). Centuries later, someone wrote of Lao Tzu as an accuser of Sun Wukong. Yet in the original texts, "Old Sage" was used interchangeably for Wukong and Tzu.
The author of the Tao (the way) was humanity's OG libertarian. This bizarre take on the Monkey King seems to harbor the original Old Sage's admonishments of "celestial justice".
Surely not a hot topic over Ron Paul vs. The Fed, but 2,600 years of thought and philosphy is worth some examination.
If you have read many of the derivative stories, Wukong was basically a prometheus and a protagonist, rebelling against rulers.
It would be interesting to see a different take from this sub.
