Hello, A minarchist here. As the title implies, this is a doomer/vent post...
While I am not American or related to the incident by any means, but I've been seeing the GME incident closely since the very beginning.
At first, I thought it would prove the world that there was a way to fight the very heart of the corporatist mechanism of the current US market. I thought it would affect the Hedgefunds to be vulnerable like ever before. I thought it could avert the ever-unstopping march towards the neo-feudalism and unsustainable economic system.
But then, they started manipulating the market, as if it was like stealing a candy from a baby. They kicked the ladders while everyone was seeing. They annihilated the weapon and no one could stop it.
And now? It is clear that the plan the people made is clearly not working. It would be too optimistic - and maybe delusional - to say that short squeeze would happen. (I won't say to people who are holding the stocks right now, it's your choice anyways) We have clearly lost, and the hedge funds have recovered from the battle and returned to their status quo.
How are we going to eventually win from the explotative "class" that gets brought back to life whenever they fall, with the taxes the governments sucked up from us? How are we bring down the deep connection between the government and the Wall Street elites?
Must we go through the tragic bloodshed of revolution? Must we have to take the harder way to defeat them? Or maybe... reject the system altogether?
Gosh, I feel so emotionally wrecked right now.
